Seeing and capturing these stags was an amazing experience. The size of their antlers were so impressive, just as watching them use their antlers as tools or weapons to fight each other. And realising the damage they could inflict on each other. These elk bulls were not to be messed with and I managed to stay at a safe distance.

There is something about Highland cows and snow together that makes this print magical. I love the contrasting colours and feel we can almost be mistaken to be somewhere in the Scottish Highlands capturing this image.

It was a stunning winters day in Canterbury, New Zealand, so we decided to make the most of it and head out for a Sunday drive. 

The Ashburton Lakes is somewhere I haven't been to in about 10 years! And I had forgotten how close it actually was to our place so it made for a perfect drive. 

Lake Clearwater is only about an hours drive away for us. It is surrounded by mountains and looks beautiful on a clear day. Unfortunately, there was a a tiny bit of wind around, so we didn’t get the reflections in the water, but nothing in life is perfect! But to be honest I actually prefer this. I love the true colours in this photograph and I didn't want it to look like a stock photo. 

Lake Clearwater and Lake Camp are located along Hakatere-Potts Road and takes about two hours if you are coming from Christchurch.

I love the earthy tones of Lindis Pass. The dramatic Lindis Pass links the Mackenzie Basin with Central Otago, New Zealand. The actual pass crosses a saddle between the valleys of the Lindis and Ahuriri Rivers at an altitude of 971 metres above sea level.
